We’re looking for a creative thinker with excellent writing and research skills to help us create that work as our full-time, in-house copywriter. As a member of the creative team, our copywriter will write and edit copy for a variety of projects (including ad campaigns, social media content, sales material, articles & blogs, scripts, presentations, pitches, websites for clients as well as our own brands and products and a LOT more). We fancy ourselves as an Automotive Marketing & Technology firm who work every tier in automotive from individual roof tops to dealer groups all the way up to the manufacturer.

The most successful copywriter will be a quick learner with a versatile writing style on both long form editorial copy and big idea advertising short form copy. You can easily switch your mind set in a single day from writing a social post to an article to a script to reviewing a presentation and to jamming with other staff in thinking up the next big idea to help make our products and the Vicimus brand stand out on a global stage.

Portfolio of work is required for all applicants showing long form, short form and campaign work examples.


  • Work within the creative department as our first in-house copywriter working with art directors, designers, videographers as well as independently as needed under the guidance of Chief Creative Officer
  • Work both of planned creative briefs as well as quick tasks as assigned
  • Work along-side the broader marketing team and other departments to strategize, plan, create and execute all copywriting duties as assigned
  • Concept and write content for our active social media calendars and client calendars
  • Write and deliver engaging content that clearly communicates our messages while reinforcing who we are and what we stand for
  • Write long form copy for our online resource articles, newsletters and sales material
  • Work with our product and creative teams to write editable copy for our growing library of campaigns and promotions available to clients using Vicimus platform solutions
  • Help in new business pitches, presentation preparation and to present ideas and copy with clarity and enthusiasm to both internal stakeholders and external clients as needed.
  • Write mistake-free copy with proper grammar and spelling
  • Edit other copy from staff or rewrite content
  • Connect with all relevant departments to ensure content is reviewed, vetted, approved, and timelines are kept on track
  • Immerse yourself in automotive and AutoTech industry, understanding everything from trends to the daily challenges car dealers work to address on a daily basis
  • Communicate openly and be receptive to ideas

  • 3+ years in a similar copywriter role – working in an agency setting (agency-side) or within the marketing department of a brand (client-side)
  • Experience working with art directors as a team
  • Experience working under a creative director
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or communications (or equivalent degree)
  • Excellent organizational skill and multitasking ability
  • Experience writing both engaging short form content and longer article length content
  • Readable online history of your activity on behalf of your previous employers, clients or yourself
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, WordPress
  • Bilingual would be great, but if not, our team will translate

Nice to haves

  • Automotive knowledge is an asset, but bringing passion to this subject is a necessity
  • Experience with writing for technology brands and b2b marketing campaigns
  • Hands on experience using social scheduling software and understanding of social KPIs
  • Social media calendar management



  • Working from home to start, however will be expected to work out of our Toronto location in the future
